We must tell you that before hearing the majestic first notes of the "Berlin" song last year, we had never heard about Gordon McIntyre...
Active in the Edimburgh scene since a couple of decades, mainly as the @ballboymusic group leader, his first solo album "Even With The Support Of Others" (@lostmaprecords) had to get out for us to see his talent suddenly remarkable... Launched by a command from the Piltlochry Festival Theatre, Gordon McIntyre chose finally to push his project a little bit more to offer under his name these 10 beautiful songs ... We don't know if there are special bonds between Scotland and Australia, but the familiarity of this subtly melancholic folk-rock with the music from The Go-Betweens or even The Appartments is shattering, because of course there is here not a single trace of copying or pastiche, no, just community spirits that find themselves on the musical front, and we are the winners...
After the beautiful album from @deanowens1 weeks ago, it's in Edimburgh that we'll be for a part of our summer... Enjoy !
